Game developers and creative enthusiasts are invited to participate in Global Game Jam (GGJ) Armenia 2026, marking a decade of the event’s presence in the local tech community. The 48-hour hackathon will take place from January 30 to February 1, 2026.

Organized by Noor Games and the European University of Armenia, this year’s jam offers a collaborative environment for participants to create video or board games based on a secret global theme.

  • Duration: A non-stop 48-hour creative sprint.
  • Inclusivity: No prior experience is required. The event welcomes programmers, artists, writers, sound designers, and hobbyists.
  • Team Dynamics: Participants can arrive with an established team or join one on-site.

Participation Requirements

To maintain a productive and safe environment, the organizers have outlined the following rules:

  • Age: All participants must be 18 or older.
  • Equipment: The event is “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD). Attendees must provide their own computers, monitors, cables, and stationery.
  • Registration: While the event is free, capacity is limited. Interested individuals must register via the official Global Game Jam website.

This year’s event is a joint effort between Noor Games, a prominent local game development studio, and the European University of Armenia, emphasizing the growing synergy between Armenia’s educational sector and the gaming industry.
