FemInno and UATE partner to enhance female representation at WCIT2024/DigiTec 2024

The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UATE) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the FemInno Cultural-Innovative platform to collaborate on the 2024 World Congress on Innovation Technology (WCIT2024/DigiTec). This agreement marks the beginning of a partnership aimed at boosting female representation and participation in Congress, both locally and internationally. By pooling their resources and networks, UATE and FemInno plan to make WCIT2024/DigiTec a landmark event that emphasizes women’s crucial role in the tech industry, while also promoting Armenia as a leading hub for female innovation and leadership.

Hayk Karapetyan, Executive Director of the Organizing Committee of WCIT2024/DigiTec, and Seda Papoyan, Founder of FemInno, signed the memorandum to unite international business and partnership networks in support of the diverse environment of WCIT2024/DigiTec.

“With the collaboration of FemInno, we are committed to expanding the WCIT2024/DigiTec agenda with a greater representation of female participants. From my personal experience, I have observed that around 40 percent of top managers in the companies I used to manage were women. However, through this partnership, we aim to enhance our event by integrating more professionals who bring their expertise to discussions on AI and related areas. This cooperation ensures that our agenda is not only comprehensive but also diverse and inclusive, reflecting the true potential of women in the tech industry,” said Hayk Karapetyan, Executive Director of the Organizing Committee of WCIT2024/DigiTec.

This partnership also aims to highlight the special session “The Female Grace of AI,” dedicated to advocating for gender equality and economic empowerment in the digital sphere. This initiative underscores the commitment to fostering a more inclusive tech environment, providing equal opportunities for women and innovations to thrive.

“As an organization with a unique focus, we are always striving for greater visibility and impact. Collaborating on an event of this scale not only brings us together but also enhances our efforts to make a significant impact for Armenia. This partnership represents an important step in our mission to extend our reach and achieve greater outcomes,” said Seda Papoyan, Founder of FemInno.

WCIT2024/DigiTec will be held from October 4–7, 2024, in Yerevan, at the Karen Demirtchian Complex. The Congress will emphasize the importance of applied sciences, investment, and technological presence in various regions and economies, centered around the headline “THE POWER OF MIND: AI Beyond Limits, Within Ethics.”

Over four days, the event will feature a comprehensive high-level program that includes B2B meetings, the WITSA World Cup (WWC) for scaleups, innovation exhibits, business presentations, workshops, and more. Designed to attract thousands of local and international delegates, the Congress offers a diverse agenda catering to various stakeholders. Participants will have the opportunity to explore advanced solutions, best practices, and the latest global ICT developments through interactive seminars and specialized panel discussions.

WCIT2024/DigiTec will serve as a global platform that aims to:

  • Showcase the technological potential of Armenia and beyond within the framework of the DigiTec Expo, which will serve as the main expo platform for WCIT2024/DigiTec.
  • Strengthen the impact of information technology, raising awareness about innovations and the latest developments in AI.
  • Represent Armenia on international platforms and position it as a new technological hub for the region.
  • Promote investments and highlight the importance of ICT solutions in various regions and economies.

The conference agenda includes participants from a wide geographic area, with more than 2,000 international delegates expected to visit Armenia during the event.
