Innovation Meets Nature: A Look Back at DevFest Armenia 2025

On December 20, 2025, the WOODS Center in Yerevan became the epicenter of Armenia’s tech ecosystem as we hosted DevFest Armenia 2025. Organized by GDG Yerevan, the event brought together over 150 developers, designers, and industry leaders for a full day of learning, building, and networking.

Deep Dives and Cutting-Edge Tech The agenda was packed with technical depth, spanning the most critical sectors of modern software development. Attendees explored the frontiers of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a heavy focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) and RAG optimization. Android Development and Web technologies remained core pillars, with sessions on full-stack React and performance-driven mobile architecture. Beyond the code, the Cloud and DevOps tracks tackled real-world scaling challenges, while specialized talks on Cybersecurity and Software Architecture provided the foundation for building secure, resilient systems.

We were honored to host a diverse lineup of world-class speakers who shared their practical experiences. Dr. Erik Arakelyan (NVIDIA) led a fascinating session on LLM reasoning, while Armen Vardanyan (Google Developer Expert – Angular) provided masterclasses in front-end optimization. Gabriel Preda (Endava) offered deep insights into AI data science and agent protocols. Other standout sessions included Rouben Meschian on programming quality software, Viktoriia Akhmatova on the future of full-stack React, and Kirill Cherniavski on the necessity of fast backends for AI. From Luiz Corneiro’s Agentic AI frameworks and Natasha Arefyeva’s workshop on Emotional Intelligence to Rohan Singh’s hands-on Cloud Run lab, the expertise on stage was truly inspiring.

The Future is Intelligent Artificial Intelligence was the star of the show this year. From deep dives into Gemini and Vertex AI to speedrunning LLM inference, attendees explored how to move beyond the hype and into production-ready AI. Our workshops provided the tools to turn these ideas into reality, with participants building AI agents and deploying scalable cloud backends in real-time.

“The event is exceptionally well organized — thank you to every volunteer and organizer for the great job. By bringing speakers from many countries, DevFest gives Armenia diverse perspectives and fresh momentum, and we at EPAM Armenia share these same priorities. As a company that has fully embraced an AI‑native approach, EPAM consistently invests in education through EPAM Campus and promotes knowledge‑sharing across the tech community. That’s exactly why we choose to partner with DevFest. Education and continuous learning remain at the heart of what we do.”

The #Devfest2025 day was filled with vibrant discussions in the halls and at partner booths. GDG Yerevan community extends deepest gratitude to our partners – Grid Dynamics, Ameriabank, EPAM, ARDY Academy, and the WOODS Center – for their support in making this event accessible and impactful. And the biggest thanks go to Google, the main supporter of global Devfests and GDG communities worldwide.

The success of DevFest 2025 is a testament to the enduring strength of the Google Developer Group Yerevan community, which has been a cornerstone of Armenia’s tech landscape for 15 years. Since its inception in 2010, the community has served as a bridge between local talent and global innovation, organizing over 100 meetups and hands-on workshops that have upskilled generations of developers. DevFest 2025 marked the 13th edition of our flagship conference, a milestone that reflects our commitment to bringing the best of Google’s technology and industry expertise to Armenia. From the early days of mobile development to the current era of generative AI, GDG Yerevan remains a vibrant, volunteer-driven hub where passion for technology meets the power of community.

To our speakers, volunteers, and every attendee who brought their enthusiasm and laptop: Thank you. You are the reason the Armenian tech community continues to thrive.

See you at DevFest 2026!
