The first AI factory in Armenia has opened in Gagarin

The new center is designed to handle large-scale AI computing, from training AI models to business, scientific, and engineering applications.

The first phase of the project is worth $120 million. The first phase of the Gagarin AI factory houses 512 GPUs. The center currently operates with 1.2 megawatts of electrical power. It is planned to increase this to 5 megawatts in the future, and to 35 megawatts in the final phase. This expansion will allow the center to multiply its computing power, deploy thousands of next-generation AI processors, and form a regional AI infrastructure center.

The state-of-the-art infrastructure is built using NVIDIA Reference Architecture standards, which means that international technology companies and research teams can move and launch their AI projects in Armenia without additional technical integration issues.

In addition to its exceptional technological power, the project is based on the principle of environmental responsibility. The infrastructure works on the “Zero Chemical Footprint” model. Thanks to Gagarin’s high mountain climate and engineering solutions for air flows, the system uses natural cooling mechanisms for 11 months of the year, eliminating the use of chemical cooling agents. The company also owns its own solar plants, ensuring full control over the clean energy used and long-term sustainability.

Eleveight AI planned to make 20 percent of its total computing power available to Armenian universities, research centers, and non-profit initiatives in order to realize the potential of local talent and stimulate scientific innovation.
